LOL! Love it!

Nice blog entry...your fake post made me laugh. I use the Nike attachment on my Nano and I find it pretty accurate...and it notifies tells me (in my ear, while dimming the music) different distance points.
Thanks
Jay

I am having iPhone envy. Why can't those apps be available to regular Mac users without iPhone or iPod touch?

Speaking of gadgets--my Garmin 405 arrived a few weeks ago. I'm hoping that the new gadget will motivate me to start running again.

I did start on a diet and working out; so maybe it's a start.

Running/Fitness Blogs and Sites

  • Skinny Sweet Pea
A fellow female getting out there and getting fit.
  • Running is Funny
This guy is great, so funny! Love his Carnival of Running entries.
  • Map your Running Routes
There are several sites that do this, but this is the one I've used for a while. Not only can you map your route in detail (I recommend the "hybrid" setting, which puts the map on top of a satellite photo so you can see the sidewalks in your neighborhood), you can also search through routes other people have saved on the site and find a route you hadn't thought of!
  • Cranky Fitness
The title says it all--a woman (now joined by a co-poster) after my own heart.
  • Ask the Penguin
More Penguin, this one a q and a blog that's worth reading.
  • Penguin Chronicles
John "the Penguin" Bingham is a champion for slow runners, though he's sped up in recent years (at least by my standards). Nonetheless, he speaks to all runners and is funny and accessible.
  • Jeff Galloway's Blog
Galloway's walk/run method changed my perspective on running and made marathoning a possibility for me and many other people.

Favorite Non-running Blogs

  • Zen Habits
I admit, I'm an organizational junkie--I obsessively mind my calendar and to do list, and I like keeping things efficient and orderly. Zen Habits has lots of good tips that keep me in line.
  • Pasta Queen/Half of Me
Jennette Fulda's blog started out as a weight loss journal, chronicling her journey losing half her weight. Now she continues writing about life in a thoughtful, clever way.
  • Vintage Rescue Squad
My friend Sue's blog about her junking experiences--she's a witty writer and a creative soul, check her out!
