I am super-impressed that you ran twice. Twice! On vacation! And it sounded fun!

I, on the other hand, believe that the only time I ran the whole week in NC was to beat someone to the window at Dairy Queen.

Re-entry is a bitch, indeed.

You were clearly lacking a chipmunk to race. But if you beat folks to the DQ window seat I do think that counts.

2 out of 3 isn't bad at all! Bottom line is that you got out there and ran even while you were on vacation. Good for you!

I ran a half marathon in Stockholm and 10K in Budapest. I also ran the Paris marathon 5 years ago. First time I ever went to Paris and fell in love with the city. I've been back about 4 times now since I moved to London.

This guy is great, so funny! Love his Carnival of Running entries.
  • Map your Running Routes
There are several sites that do this, but this is the one I've used for a while. Not only can you map your route in detail (I recommend the "hybrid" setting, which puts the map on top of a satellite photo so you can see the sidewalks in your neighborhood), you can also search through routes other people have saved on the site and find a route you hadn't thought of!

  • Ask the Penguin
More Penguin, this one a q and a blog that's worth reading.
  • Penguin Chronicles
John "the Penguin" Bingham is a champion for slow runners, though he's sped up in recent years (at least by my standards). Nonetheless, he speaks to all runners and is funny and accessible.
  • Jeff Galloway's Blog
Galloway's walk/run method changed my perspective on running and made marathoning a possibility for me and many other people.
